Sacramento-Roseville 3rd Track Scoping Meetings

Last Updated: July 21, 2014By

The Capitol Corridor’s proposed extension of a third track between Sacramento and Roseville to accommodate 10 round trip trains per day will be discussed at two “scoping” meetings to be held at the Sacramento and Roseville City Halls, respectively.

This project adds a third track to the existing two owned by Union Pacific, providing more capacity for passenger trains while not interfering with freight trains entering and exiting Union Pacific’s Roseville yard. Upgrades to the Roseville station are included, though no additional stations are proposed. TRAC representatives will attend the meeting, and will present our views to Capitol Corridor and U.P. staff.

The first meeting will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 16th at Sacramento’s Old City Hall, 915 I Street in downtown Sacramento.

The second meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 17th at the Roseville Civic Center, 311 Vernon Street in downtown Roseville.
